Young robot learns about being human in Doug Unplugs on Apple TV+

Preschoolers will soon be able to learn about life in a computer-animated Doug Unplugs series on Apple TV+. It’s based on a popular book series about a robot boy and his human friends, and makes the jump to TV in mid-November.

A trailer released on Monday gives kids and their parents a peak at what to expect from this series developed by DreamWorks Animation.

Doug Unplugs and discovers real fun

Doug Unplugs tells the story of a young robot named Doug who senses there’s more to life than just the facts. While other robots plug in for their daily download, Doug unplugs and journeys into the human world with his best friend Emma to experience its wonders firsthand.

The TV series is an adaptation of Dan Yaccarino’s Doug Unplugged book series. It’ll premier on Apple TV+ on Friday, November 13, with the first seven episodes available globally at once.

Apple TV+ keeps growing its offerings for children

Kids will find quite a bit to watch on Apple’s streaming video service. It recently became the new home for all things Peanuts, including the classic holiday specials.

Other children’s programs available now include Ghostwriter and Helpsters. The animated feature film Wolfwalkers is set to debut in December..

Apple TV+ costs $4.99 a month, and there are no commercials.It can be watched on Mac, iPad and iPhone, of course, but also on all smart TV platforms.
